Spinach pasta recipe

Combine the juicing and homogenizing functions of your juicer in this simple recipe.

Many horizontal juicers can also be used to make pasta.  This requires a blank screen (also known as a homogenizing screen) and pasta nozzles.  Many juicers from top brands like Sana, Omega, and Hurom include these accessories.  This recipe uses both the juicing and pasta-making abilities of a horizontal juicer to make a simple and delicious pasta from just a few ingredients.

Step 1

Juice the spinach, using the juicing screen.  If your juicer includes both a fine and coarse screen, use the fine screen. You will need about three tablespoons of spinach juice.

Step 2

Mix all ingredients together and knead well to make dough. A food processor or bread machine with a kneading setting can be helpful. We used the Sana Smart Bread Maker to knead the dough.

Step 3

Roll the dough into tubes which will fit into the juicer's feeding tube.

Step 4

Prepare a pasta drying rack to place the pasta as it comes out of the juicer.  You can also use a towel dusted with flour.

Step 5

Using the blank screen and desired pasta nozzle shape, process each tube of dough, one at a time.  Use scissors to cut the pasta as it comes out, and place on the drying rack or towel.

Step 6

Let the pasta dry for a few minutes, then cook in a pot of boiling water.  Remember, fresh pasta cooks much faster than dry pasta. It should be ready in less than 5 minutes.  Drain in a colander and rinse with cold water.
