Detox

Dandelion honey, nettle spinach, bear’s garlic pesto – you can prepare cocktails and delicious juices even from these plants. Learn more about why and how to prepare them!

There are plenty of dandelions outside and you can buy bear’s garlic at almost every marketplace. You can also find it in the wild nature, but be careful not to mix it up with lilies of the valley. You definitely recognize nettles, but take care when gathering them.

So, if you plan to go for a walk to the nearest forest, take a small basket with you and pick some dandelions, nettles and bear’s garlic.

Use the whole dandelion

Dandelion is taken as a weed, which means that you can find it almost everywhere in the meadows. You can process its roots and prepare special flour. Blossoms are good for making honey and leafs can be juiced – they contain many beneficial substances:

  • vitamins A, B, C, D
  • beta-Carotene
  • potassium, silicon and calcium
  • 2x higher content of iron than you can find in spinach

You have to count on the fact that dandelion leafs taste slightly bitter (very similar to chicory), so you should juice just young leaves high content of its milk.

Dandelion juice has great wholesome effects on your kidneys, liver and skin. On the other hand, forthcoming mothers should not drink dandelion drinks at all.

Don’t let sting discourage you

You can’t overlook nettles and if so, their stings definitely draw your attention. Use gloves when gathering them and then you can prepare not only popular spinach or tea but you can juice them as well. There are plenty of wholesome substances:

  • vitamins B, C
  • carotene and chlorophyll
  • potassium, magnesium and iron
  • 2x higher content of proteins in comparison with soybeans

Nettle is famous for its detoxifying and antiseptic effects. It’s suitable for spring detox of your organism – cleans your blood, supports digestion and bowel peristalsis. It also strengthens immunity system and protects against viruses.

Bear’s detox inspiration

You can find bear’s garlic in almost every broad-leaved forest. You definitely recognize it according to its “garlicky smell”, which is very characteristic altogether with high content of beneficial substances:

  • vitamins A, B, C
  • iron, zinc, magnesium, calcium
  • high content of iodine

Its name comes from the fact that bears eat this plant in order to clean their bowels and blood after long winter. And bears really know what they do. Besides these effects there are additional ones – protection against viruses and germs and prevention from '''arteriosclerosis'''.
